Located in beautiful Ostional, Costa Rica, Guanavista is within close proximity to several fiestas típicas locations. Picture a celebration where the entire town comes together, immersed in the vibrancy of traditional food, carnival games, contagious laughter and of course the “Grito Guanacasteco”. This is a spirited yelp expressed with pride for the riders’ courage in the bull ring, also resonating in various cultural aspects – from festive celebrations and horse events to dance and music, characteristic of the Guanacaste region.
Our team recently had the pleasure of attending the fiestas típicas in Nosara at the redondel, and now we’re excited to share the upcoming festivities in our neighboring town, Marbella, just 15 minutes away from Guanavista.
From Thursday, February 8th, to Sunday, February 11th, Marbella will come alive with cultural flair, culminating in a thrilling horse parade, or “Tope de Caballistas.” This tradition harks back to a time when horses were not just a means of transportation but also a source of pride, a sentiment still echoed in today’s agricultural and livestock activities.
Guanacaste’s typical festivities resonate internationally, drawing tourists to experience the magic woven by local communities. Horse parades, bull runs, carousels, fireworks, music, and dances create an irresistible tapestry of cultural celebration. While these activities are widespread across the province, the most renowned and visited are the ones hosted in Santa Cruz, both in January and July. January’s festivities honor the Holy Christ of Esquipulas, while July commemorates the annexation of Guanacaste.
We’re excited to continue bringing you updates that allow you to discover the heart and soul of Guanavista – where culture thrives, and opportunities await. Don’t miss out on the festivities or the chance to be a part of our growing community! Contact us to learn more about our limited time Pioneer Pricing incentives so you can become part of the Guanavista community today.
