An Unforgettable Night at Guanavista: Celebrating the Power of Education

On [insert date], Guanavista had the honor of hosting a truly special evening in collaboration with the Kitson Library: the celebration of 28 years of community impact, storytelling, and educational empowerment in Ostional.

It was more than an event — it was a heartfelt gathering of neighbors, partners, and friends united by a shared mission: to celebrate the transformative power of reading and learning in the lives of our children.

The evening opened with a moving conversation featuring the beloved Beverly Kitson, the library’s director, who shared powerful stories about the library’s humble beginnings, its challenges, and the thousands of lives it has touched over the years. Her unwavering commitment and vision continue to inspire everyone in the community.

One of the most emotional moments of the night was the screening of a short documentary highlighting the profound impact the Kitson Library has had on local youth. Through real stories and familiar faces, the film captured a clear message: when we open the door to education, anything is possible.

We also proudly introduced the new Early Literacy Program, designed to support children from a young age with reading tools, family engagement, and access to learning opportunities. This program marks an exciting new chapter in the Kitson Library’s mission — and we couldn’t be more hopeful for what’s ahead.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who joined us, contributed, volunteered, or simply showed their support. Together, we are building a stronger, more educated, and more connected community.
