Celebrating 28 Years of Community Impact with the Kitson Library

On April 11th, Guanavista proudly hosted a heartfelt evening in collaboration with Kitson Library. Together, we celebrated 28 years of education, storytelling, and community connections in Nosara.

This was more than just an anniversary. It was a powerful reminder of how shared efforts can create lasting impact. The night brought together neighbors, friends, and local partners, all united by one mission: to empower future generations through education.

To start, Beverly Kitson, the library’s director, shared moving stories about the library’s early days. She spoke with passion about its growth, the challenges it faced, and the lives it has transformed. Her words reminded us why the library is such a vital part of Nosara.

Later, we watched a short documentary created by Matthew Chenet Photography. It featured real voices from the community and showed how reading changes lives. Many attendees were visibly touched.

That evening, we also introduced the new Early Literacy Program. This initiative gives young children access to books, family support, and tools to develop strong reading habits. It marks an exciting step forward for the library’s mission.

We’re incredibly thankful to everyone who joined, including Bearhug, BottleCo, and Celajes. Your presence and energy brought this celebration to life.

Community connections in Nosara grow stronger when we come together with purpose. Want to support this mission? Donate or volunteer today.
