In the heart of our cherished Ostional community, the Turtle Lodge thrives, led by two remarkable individuals, Vero and Luis. They’ve been integral to our town’s growth and conservation efforts for two decades, witnessing the evolution of Ostional.
They embarked on a journey in 2006 when they acquired The Ostional Turtle Lodge, opening its doors in 2008. Today, the Turtle Lodge offers 5 cozy rooms, allowing you to experience the beauty and tranquility of Ostional like never before. Not only do they provide warm hospitality but also embody a deep commitment to the environment. When they first arrived, Ostional was an isolated, almost abandoned town.
They were the proud owners of one of the first cars in the area, navigating through several rivers to reach here. They remind us to cherish and protect our natural surroundings. Ostional, known as a wildlife refuge, is home to incredible biodiversity.
Vero and Luis, proud community members, actively engage in addressing town needs. They tirelessly support initiatives that benefit our community as a whole.
Vero’s dedication is evident in her pursuit of projects like the long-awaited Ostional bridge. She has nurtured this dream with her father’s guidance, a civil engineer, for years.
We’re thrilled to announce that we have finally acquired the Ostional Bailey Bridge, and the materials have now arrived in our town.
The installation is pending, and this achievement marks a significant milestone for Ostional’s infrastructure.
Furthermore, Luis has been actively involved in a non-profit initiative called “Revive” which is dedicated to preserving our oceans by replacing old septic tanks with wastewater treatment plants. He is also passionate about educating those who are building near our aquifers to install these treatment plants and prevent water contamination. His commitment to preserving clean and accessible water for our community reflects his dedication to our well-being on all fronts.

Recently, Vero and Luis were part of the community efforts that led to the construction of two new classrooms at the Ostional school, a remarkable achievement.
While achieving this milestone, more work remains. We must complete the classrooms, urgently build another one, and provide office space for our dedicated teachers.
